She was born on 21 December 1984 (Age: 33 years). She got her early education in Karachi from Foundation Public School and completed her O-Levels at the age of 16. She then shifted to California for higher education where she went to Santa Monica College. She enrolled in the University Of Southern California for her Bachelor’s degree but never completed it and came to Pakistan where she joined the showbiz industry.
DRAMA CAREER:
Mahira Khan launched her career as a VJ on MTV Pakistan. She hosted a show named Most Wanted. Then she went to host Aag TV show Weekends with Mahira where she used to play music videos and talk to celebs in 2008. Mahira then got her cinematic debut with Bol. Shoaib Masood directed BOL and the supporting role of Ayesha was played by Mahira Khan. The same year she made her debut in the drama industry with Mehreen Jabbar’s Neeyat opposite Humayun Saeed. Then came the massive break for Mahira Khan that made her the biggest star in Pakistan.
She played the lead role in Sarmad Khoosat’s Humsafar. She played the role of Khired Hussain; an innocent small-town lady who goes through plenty of difficulties at the hands of fate. Mahira’s try with co-star Fawad Khan was vastly admired by the audience and the drama tested to be a career milestone for both the lead actors. Mahira went back to work with Sarmad in Shehr e Zaat after the success of her drama Humsafar.
She won many awards for her performance in Shehr e Zaat. That same year Mahira went back to hosting. She hosted a show named TUC the Lighter Side of Life where she invited many celebrities and interviewed them. Her next project was Sadqay Tumharay which also aired on HUM TV. She went back to movies with Bin Roye that also became a drama. She paired opposite Humayun in Bin Roye after Neeyat.
PERSONAL LIFE:
Mahira was born in a Pathan family and has one brother Hassan Khan. She once wore an Afghan dress in which she looked elegant. Her brother is a journalist. Ali Askari, Mahira’s ex-husband, met with her during her Vjying day. Mahira married Ali though her family didn’t want her to. The couple has a son Azlaan Askari born in 2009. The couple had differences but Mahira sensibly put everything under wraps and didn’t make her private matters a public affair. Things, however, did not work in her favor and the couple got divorced in 2015.

Mahira has received countless awards in her career from the best actress for dramas, best actress film, most stylish actress to awards for her beauty in shows like Lux Style Awards, HUM Awards, HUM Style Awards, Pakistan Media Awards, Vogue Beauty Awards and Masala Awards. In 2017 she was also honored for International Recognition and Best dress at Beirut International Awards Festival.
